So...about the Great Turning

Well Hello There

Surviving the Future

My friend Shaun who published David Fleming's work, Surviving the Future, posthumously just sent out an email saying that there are 40 spots left in the course Surviving the Future: a Deeper Dive with confirmed guests including Leah Avene, Nate Hagens and Mark Boyle. The course starts on January 5th - I'd love to know who's joining! And this is not an affiliate link. I might be teaching something inside of Surviving the Future!

Things I've been contemplating

Joanna Macy and Molly Brown talk about the three stories of our time in Coming Back to Life, these stories are Business as Usual, The Great Unravelling and The Great Turning. These are spoken about and contemplated even further in the upcoming book Coming Together in the Great Turning.

As we live through collapse, or the Great Unravelling, what's happening is that we're trying to find all the ways we can cope with it. Collapse is not a one-time event, it's a process. It's happens simultaneously on the collective and personal levels and we all experience it differently.

In liberal and progressive space, there's a lot of effort to try and make sense of it and cultivate safety for all as we go through times of great despair. And as someone from the Global South, I experience that as a lot of policing. A policing of expression that feels like yet another form of colonization and oppression that has the current of disparity run even deeper.

I'm not sure if this manifests differently if you're someone outside of the US, I have a feeling that this is a US centric thing, but I can't tell.

More thoughts about being civilized vs being cultured on my substack (incoming, I'm still writing the post as I write this email)

Now on to my own offerings!

I might (or might not) have emailed about the Thawing which was scheduled to start today -- I've had to push our starting date until the 13th. The Thawing is now running from the 13th until the 15th of November and we will be taking capitalism through the spiral of the Work that Reconnects.

The Not Yet Lab is now Imagination for Liberation

Now with a more explicit connection to the Work that Reconnects! The Winter Session starts on January 14 and ends on February 18th.

As always, there's tiered pricing and no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

SEE YOU THERE!

I would love to hear from you!

Much love,

Sara

I love to talk about collapse, imagination and liberation, poeticizing the mundane + contemplating belonging/othering under modernity. I'm a Work that Reconnects facilitator, Offers + Needs Markets facilitator + an energy facilitator. I'm currently working on a collection of essays on post-colonial mothering.
