Today I come to you with an official invitation
I want you to come dream with me. Holding the both/and of “the world is falling apart” and “there’s so much to love about the world” can be the most confusing thing we’ve ever been asked to do. And yet, we have to dream. We get to dream. If it wouldn’t be pushing it, I would even say that we’re morally obligated to dream.
And it can be daunting.
Because we want to change the world, literally change the world, and our lives, and the systems we swim in. And it’s all too much that we just sit there and do nothing.
But what if we can dream of little things, micro things even?
What is micro-dreaming?
Micro-dreaming (that doesn’t involve micro-dosing or any substance other than your own lists, desires and imagination, really) is a practice I offered in my piece titled Acquainting Ourselves with Collapse which was part of my post growth institute fellowship. I wrote about micro-dreaming on Substack a couple of times, too.
I’m hosting a micro-dreaming lab on Telegram which you can join for a small fee of $14
For 21 days we will:
- Engage in a micro-dreaming practice
- Play with facets of identity
- Fill our carrier bags with possibility
The lab will run on Telegram with optional 30-45 minute daily check-ins on Zoom (Cairo evenings)
The first 3-5 days will be warming up to the idea of micro-dreaming, how we feel, how we want to feel and what we want to see more of in our worlds.
Then we'll get into the practice, checking in, making tweaks and trying it on for fit as we go.
